Poddar institute - an introduction

Deaf child faces difficulties in speech & hearing . Deafness is an obstacle in academics, socialization an getting jobs. So need of special education and vocational training was felt by Raja Ramdev Poddar and his plan was executed by the then Prime Minister of  former jaipur state sir Mirza ismail.

Institute with hostel facility was started on July 7, 1945 with two hearing impaired students and one blind student, later on the blind section was shifted in Ajmer.

Institute was upgraded to upper primary level in 1981-82, secondary level in 1997-98 and senior secondary level in 2005-06.

Things have change in last some years. Availability of girls hostel, transport facility, vocational training, ERNET computer lab, compucom computer lab, sound treated room for hearing & speech therapy, quality education with co-curricular activities has improved the atmosphere.

Now Government & non Government agencies are rendering their support whole heatedly.

Board results are nearly cent percent since last 5 years and students have shown their talent in games, science projects, cultural activities at state and national level.

Teacher student ration is nearly 1:10

Institute is supported by specialized team of qualified and experienced trained teachers who are dedicated towards special children.

Free of cost hostel facility....

Government Is providing free of cost hostel facility for hearing impaired students.

 Mr. S.S. Bhandari, F.C.A., renowed philanthroist and trustee of Yashwant Kanwar Ranjeet Singh Bhandari memorial foundation, Jaipur and secretary Smt. Nidhi Pareek and Shri P.P. Pareek of Purushottam sewa sansthan give financial support for newly built firsts floor Boy’s
& Girl’s Hostel respectively.

State Government and education department is also patronizing this school by increasing number of seats in both hostels and also providing free of cost hostel facility. Allocated seats in Boy’s hostel & Girl’s hostel in session 2012-13 is 165 and 80 respectively
